Two tasks can be performed with Tzip. Number one: you can select the files you want and turn them into a nice archive. And number two: you can select an archive and extract its contents. There’s much to like about this compression software: it is quite easy to use, it does its job rapidly, it integrates with the right click context menu, it is offered for the great price of free.

Download an installer, run it, follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard. These are the standard steps you must go through to install most software applications. These are also the steps you must go through to install Tzip on your Windows-powered PC. The whole process will take very little of your time and will require a minimal amount of effort.

Tzip has an Explorer-like interface. The panel on the left hand side allows you to explore your libraries, drives, and folders. Select a folder for example and the files inside it will be presented by the panel on the right hand side. And since we’re talking about Windows Explorer, it must be mentioned that Tzip integrates with it. This means that options to create an archive and to extract data from archives show up in the right click context menu.

At the top of Tzip’s interface there are three buttons:
Add – use this button to select the files you want to compress to the Toolbox (see below).
Compress – select several files and click this button to create an archive (a password-protected archive if you want to).
Extract – select an existing archive and click this button to extract its contents.
Toolbox – the files you add with the aforementioned Add button are displayed here; you can compress them all into a nice archive. A list of all the archives you create is also presented here.

Tzip is free software and according to its developer, it will forever be free software.

Easily and quickly create archives and extract data from archives. That’s what you can do with the free and good looking Tzip application.

Pros

There is nothing complicated about installing Tzip on a Windows PC. Tzip has a good looking, Explorer-like interface. Tzip integrates with Windows Explorer (the right click context menu features options to create archives, extract data from archives). You can create password-protected archives. Files can be compressed as ZIP, 7z and RAR. Tzip can extract data from a variety of archives: ZIP, ZIPX, RAR, 7z, ISO, IMG, ISZ, CAB, ARJ, ACE, ALZ, UUE, TAR, GZ, GZIP, TGZ, TPZ, bzip2, BZ2, BZ, TBZ, TBZ2, XZ, TXZ, LZH, LHA, Z, TAZ, XPI, JAR, WIM, SWM, RPM, XAR, DEB, DMG, HFS, CPIO, LZMA, LZMA86 and SPLIT. Tzip is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of.
